North Ridge Studio Renovation

The North Ridge Studio renovation transformed an underutilized loft space above the client's garage into a functional and inspiring pottery studio.

The project began with the installation of Rockwool insulation, providing fire resistance, sound control, and moisture resistance to create a safe and comfortable environment. Storage walls were framed throughout the space, with custom-built doors designed to maximize both storage and functionality. Drywall was then installed throughout the studio and along the stairway leading to the loft for a clean, seamless finish.

To enhance the studio's natural light and aesthetic, pine tongue-and-groove boards with a satin finish were installed on the ceiling and incorporated into the custom storage doors. The satin finish helps reflect natural light throughout the space. Window and door trim were crafted from poplar for its excellent paint-grade qualities, while pine baseboards complement the ceiling and storage doors.

The staircase features poplar paint-grade risers, red oak stair treads, and a beech railing, finished with black hardware for a cohesive, modern look.

The completed renovation combines thoughtful craftsmanship, functionality, and carefully selected materials to create a bright, inviting pottery studio designed to inspire creativity and craftsmanship.
